Lord of the Rings and other Things

For those interested, this Wednesday, that of study week, we will be attempting something of epic proportions, a journey, and adventure, an excuse to sit at the spleen in front of the TV for about 12 hours.

That's right, it's the Lord of the Rings Trilogy Challenge.
Some have tried, so have failed, some have warned us that it is not wise, but we're doing it anyway.

There were nine members of the fellowship, and hence, we will begin with the fellowship of the Ring at 9am. Yeah I know it's early for study week, but that means we can have lunch afterwards.
At 2pm, we will begin The Two Towers. After which we will have Pizza or Fish and Chips or something for tea.
When we return from our feasting, we will watch The Return of The King.

To summarise: the screenings will begin at 9am, 2pm and after dinner.
Bring something to share for lunch, and money for dinner.
This Wednesday 20 October, at the green spleen (21 woodford tce)
We will be watching the extended versions of the first two movies, but not the third as it is not out yet.

Other things

This Sunday, a band from Hawaii will be playing at ABC's evening service. Well they say their from Hawaii, but at Samstock, their bassist was recognised as Mike's flatmate's brother who worked at the warehouse with Fraser until about 2 months ago. Should be good anyway. Oh, and their lead singer used to be a model. Why a Christian band use that to advertise themselves I'm not sure, but she's already taken (married to their guitarist)

And On Friday Night: Punk and Disorderly
Friday 22nd October The Jetset Lounge First band on at 9.30pm ,
AMPLE CLEAVAGE (3rd National Battle of the Bands)
DISARM (Canterbury finalists Battle of the Bands)
NEAVUS (Canterbury finalists Battle of the Bands)
AVIATOUR (somne other band)
5 bucks I think.

What's playing as I post this: Project 86, the first album. mmmm, very heavy rapcore with creative bits.

The thing I'm worried about is, won't we all have to do the LOTR challenge again once #IIIExtended comes out and we start hearing stories about other people who've done the Ultimate LOTR Challenge and we start to have inferiority complexes and things because we haven't done it quite as Ultimately as they have? Not that I'm complaining really because, knowing me, chances are I will one day do the Ultimate anyway, as well as being there this Wednesday with bells on. Meh :)

oops, I meant to select Richard Harker's Email address, and clicked Richard Hartshorn's instead. Still He would be most welcome!

And yes, Katherine, a more ultimate challenge would be to do all three extended editions, but ROTK doesn't come out til just before Christmas, and This week suits me, and gives others a chance to procastinate. Maybe some time next year we could attempt the ultimate challenge too. Then play Lord of the Rings Risk afterwards, to add to the fun!

O for Orsum! I will partake also in the Ultimateness, although I’ll have to come half-way through the first one, since my sister has a driving test tomorrow morning which I have to take her to and from.

As for LOTR III not being the extended edition, that’s quite alright… I’ve already done a semi-ultimate LOTR challenge with only the first extended, so this is naturally the next step on the path to watching all three extended editions. :)

I’ll come around with bells on too :P
